Made from an organic latex trees, tyres go through a lengthy process to withstand the thousands of km's they'll need to travel under the wight of our will and cars. One problematic element to their hardy nature, is that we still haven't conceived of a viable way to dispose of them once they are no longer road worthy. This often results in large organised and irresponsible dumping and burning creating irreversible environmental damage. These artworks many of which are collaborations with Tread Collective, Charmaine Tung, Reuben Solomon and Mark Swartz, attempt to present a new, fun and creative way of reusing this resilient waste product.
